Copley Copley is located in Summit County, west of the City of Akron, south of Bath Township and the City of Fairlawn, north of the City of Norton and east of Medina County. The 2010 Census estimated our population at 17,304. Copley Township is one of the nine townships of Summit County, Ohio, United States. Click here to read about Montrose.
Copley was originally called Greenfield, after Garner Green, who owned a large portion of the township. Later on he changed the name to Copley, the maiden name of his wife. Fairlawn was founded as a hamlet in Copley in 1891 when the Northern Ohio Railway was built. As of 1908 it had a mill, general store, a blacksmith, and other businesses. Akron, OH can be seen here.
