The city of Akron is divided into ten wards. The mayor is elected from all over the city. The current ruling mayor was elected back in 2016. The mayor’s cabinet is made up of governors and deputy governors in the fields of; communication, economic development, law, planning, and urban development and many more essential sectors. Education

The levels of education offered in the Akron city district school are preschool, elementary, and secondary education. There are free public schools in Akron city where property taxes pay children's fees. There is also the University of Akron, which in 2008, appeared in the Best in Midwest list. Hospitals

Akron city has a place called the Biomedical Corridor that looks into different health matters. It lies in both the private and public land. It lies in an area of 1240 acres. The children's hospital is on the northern side, while two health organizations possess the adult's hospital, Akron General Health System, and Summa Health System. The staff in this hospital deals with many forms of health issues, including burns and trauma. There are also pediatric care and orthopedic programs .it was documented as "America's Best Hospitals" in 2009.
